The Great Saltair | Diaz de Leon Family

Family picture, mom in cream dress from Piper & scoot holds one son on her shoulders while dad holds baby in a striped white and blue jumper with big sister in a blue overall dress and big brother in a rose shirt and teal pants.

It is hard to believe that it has almost been a year now since I took these pictures.  Every session I do is so important to me and touches my heart.  But, for me, this session is one of the most cherished family photography sessions that I have done.  Not just because I love The Great Saltair and this family or that the images perfectly capture their genuine love and family dynamic.  But, because this was the first family session for me, when everything just clicked.  It was effortless, I wasn’t stressed about getting the right image,  I just embraced the moment and so did they, and the images we captured were full of emotion and honesty.  Not to mention they are truly breathtaking.  I spent the drive home sobbing, because I finally felt like I had achieved the family session I knew I was capable of creating.  I was so happy and so excited to get their images back to them and to do the same for so many other families.

After they got their images back from their session at The Great Saltair, Ale said this:

kind words

I hate pictures.  I do what a lot of women do, I pick everything I don’t like about myself.  I go down the list of things and angles that make me “not pretty.”  But I opened my gallery from our photoshoot and truly saw ME, as a mother of four.  My love for them isn’t flawed and that is all I see in my pictures.  Thank you Kara for showing me those perfect moments in my own life.

I still feel so blessed to have been able to capture some of these priceless moments for such dear friends.  I feel so lucky to be able to help them document their journey and current stage in life and look forward to many more opportunities to do so for them and so many others.

Want to capture your perfect little moments?  I’d love to work with you, don’t put it off because time waits for no one…
